Dear Isley Brothers Members, Family & Friends,
Our Sincerest Condolences Regarding The Death Of Marvin Isley.
In 1997 Marvin retired from the group to rest and battle his fight with diabletes while living in Oak Park, Illinois while brothers Ronald and Ernie continued on as the Isley Brothers. The Isley Brothers featuring Ronald Isley have been on tour since with much success. It is untimely to receive this news so close to our Saturday; June 19th however, this show will go on and will be a celebration concert in memory of Mr. Marvin Isley. We encourage everyone to show the family their support and condolences by placing a comment on this page.
Marvin Isley, whose muscular bass lines propelled the hits of his classic sibling band The Isley Brothers, died Monday in Chicago at age 56. As Mark Allen, Associate Editor of The South Street Journal Newspaper, wrote “No political movement can survive without the words and feeling from “Fight The Power.”
The Arena Theatre directors, agents and staff would like to express our condolences to his friends, associates and family. Rest In Peace Marvin Isley, knowing that you and your fabulous music will live in on in the hearts of music lovers worldwide.
